Moms! Help!

Ethan still gets a bottle at nap and bedtime. With his allergies and everything it made me feel better to know that he was still getting nutrition through formula. We decided when we were out of formula we would try and stop the bottles. How the hell do you do this?? I have Next Step, I decided that about 1/2 an hour before bed (and nap) time I'd give him a sippy of Next Step then at bed time he could sip on that and be cuddled, then put down. Didn't go well, he's crying now :0( and it breaks my heart. Tips?? Normally he goes down without a peep and goes right to sleep, he's a wonderful sleeper, I hate to make him so upset over a stupid bottle. Ugh, why is this so hard sometimes?

  1. I'm not looking forward to doing this. Seb nurses before bed and I have NO idea how I'm going to get him down when I stop BFing.

  2. Replacing bottles with meals was super easy, he didnt care at all. He has milk, water, or an inch of juice with the rest water. He drink 2-4 sippy's a day of that. It's just the bottle to bed thing that's hard to break, he doesnt fall asleep drinking, just while he's drinking he starts eye rubbing and getting tired, then when he's done he's awake and we put him done and he goes to sleep perfectly.
